Native of Kela, 50 kilometres from the Guinean border, Ibrahima Diabaté lives in Bamako, capital city of Mali. Originating from an important Malinka griot family, the “masters of speech”, he is still deeply attached to his culture and he has been working for a long time to emphasize it.
